Each month the Community Foundation sends an e-newsletter to our donors and fund advisors. The enewsletter links to the "News from Nonprofits" page of our site, which provides agencies with valuable exposure to our donors and allows our donors to stay up-to-date with current projects and funding needs.
To request inclusion on our website, please complete the electronic submission form. Please note that we only highlight 501(c)(3) organizations that primarily serve residents of Larimer County. If you have any questions, please contact our staff.
The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado promotes philanthropy by responding to the needs of donors and investing in the vision, passion, and expertise of local nonprofit organizations.
The Community Foundation distributed $5 million in grants and programs during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2012. The vast majority of our grants are made from Donor Advised and Designated funds; typically less than 2% of our annual distributions are made as part of the annual competitive grant cycle.
To apply for a grant during our annual competitive grant cycle, an organization must be a 501c3 charitable entity, educational institution, or a municipality that meets the criteria described below. We do not make grants to individuals or businesses.
To increase your agency's visibility throughout Northern Colorado, we encourage you to share information about your programs and needs with our fund advisors by requesting the opportunity to be featured on our website.
Each summer we invite charitable organizations that serve Berthoud, the Estes Valley, or Loveland residents to submit a grant application for consideration by our grantmaking committees. (We do not solicit/accept funding requests that focus on the Fort Collins community. However, an agency that is located in Fort Collins may submit a grant application to the Berthoud or Loveland grantmaking committees as long as the agency's funding request meets the criteria.)
The one-page application form is typically posted on July 1 and submissions are due within 3 weeks. The 2013 application deadline was Friday, July 19. Funding decisions are typically made by early November.
Thank you for the valuable work you are doing in our region!
A Final Report is required of any agency that applies for and receives a competitive grant of $2,500 or more from the Community Foundation. Nonprofit agencies receiving grants as part of our annual competitive grant cycle must submit their Final Reports by Sept. 1 of the following year (i.e., approximately 9 months after funds were received.) The report must be submitted electronically using the online Final Report Form. Agencies receiving competitive grants of less than $2,500 should not submit a final report.
Grants from Donor Advised funds are made based on recommendations from the fund's advisors. The Community Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals for grants from Donor Advised Funds. The Enander Family Foundation Fund accepts proposals, and details may be viewed here.
