Celebrating Gratitude: Making the Connection between the Gift of Freedom and Those Who Worked to Provide It

 celebrating gratitude

Please join us for Celebrating Gratitude, a community-wide letter-writing campaign designed to show our deepest gratitude for those who have served our country to secure our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The Celebrating Gratitude Committee of Northern Colorado will distribute the letters to veterans who attend Welcome Home: A Salute to Our Vietnam War Veterans events, May 24-29, at the Veterans Plaza in Fort Collins. Welcome Home celebrates the service and accomplishments of Vietnam War era veterans, both living and deceased, and honors their sacrifices given for our country, its citizens, and each other. Approximately 25,000 – 40,000 people are expected to participate.

If you would like to write a letter to a veteran, please include the following elements in your letter:

(1) A general greeting, like “Dear Veteran,”

(2) what veterans have done to make a difference, and

(3) the benefits their efforts provided to you.

Please mail or deliver the letters by May 19, 2017, to Veterans Compass, P.O. Box 1, Fort Collins, CO  80522. Individuals, businesses, schools, and other organizations are encouraged to participate!
