About Us

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is a nonprofit organization that manages and administers more than 470 charitable funds and approximately $104 million in assets.* Donations to the funds are tax deductible and grants from the funds are distributed to public charities, schools, and churches.

Since 1975, the Community Foundation has proudly served our region by promoting local philanthropy. We connect people with the causes they care about most, and through our annual grant and program distributions we play a key role in enhancing the extraordinary quality of life the Northern Colorado region offers its residents.

In partnership with generous donors and dedicated volunteers, the Foundation is working to ensure a bright future for Northern Colorado. Members of the Foundation’s Board of TrusteesRegional Development Council, and numerous committees represent the four primary communities we serve (Fort CollinsLovelandEstes Park and Berthoud). In addition, the Community Foundation is a respected convener and facilitator for important community conversations on topics ranging from water to homelessness.

We are a vehicle for charitable giving. When you make your tax-deductible gift to the Community Foundation, you directly impact the charitable organizations or projects of your choice. By pooling charitable funds for greater investment return, we keep overhead expenses low and ensure that 98-100% of each contribution reaches the recipient organization. This allows donors to do more with what they have to give.
