Among the many qualities that make Northern Colorado a special place to live, philanthropy is a cornerstone. We invite you to celebrate and honor two families that have helped build the communities we love.

COMMUNITY LEGACY AWARD: THE Gallegos FAMILY

https://www.nocofoundation.org/image/acop/2018/CommunityLegacyAwardACOP.jpgThe Community Legacy Award is given annually to a Northern Colorado family that demonstrated philanthropy and volunteerism through multiple generations.

For three generations, the Gallegos Family has built its business on community partnerships and meaningfully giving back to a wide variety of charitable causes. Since its inception in 1959, Gallegos Sanitation has provided waste removal throughout Northern Colorado and has established the company as an innovative leader in safety, service, and sustainability.  The company models and teaches the importance of giving back, not only to the community, but also to employees.

FOUNDERS AWARD: Lynn and norma Hammond

https://www.nocofoundation.org/image/acop/2018/FoundersAwardACOP.jpgThe Founders Award recognizes individuals and families that have provided exceptional leadership, both to the Community Foundation and our region. The award celebrates the crucial role leadership plays in strengthening nonprofits and creating dynamic communities.

Lynn and Norma Hammond have been an enduring part of Loveland since the 1960s, both as dedicated volunteers for numerous organizations and as philanthropists. The couple has had a meaningful impact in many areas – from schools to Loveland Rotary Club to High Plains Arts Council and in the Foundation’s Loveland Generations giving group. Lynn and Norma's generosity  was so instrumental in the creation of the amphitheater by Loveland High School that the venue was named after them.
