Board of Trustees

The Community Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of well-known community leaders from throughout Northern Colorado. Trustees are selected for having demonstrated personal involvement in civic affairs and a high level of commitment and philanthropic leadership in our community.The Community Foundation is also supported by a Regional Development Council and numerous committees.


Greg Anderson, CLU, ChFC
Greg has been a financial advisor since 1978, and he is currently an owner and Chartered Financial Consultant at Vision Financial Group. He is involved with the Loveland Sertoma Club and Council Tree Covenant Church and serves on the board for Covenant Heights Camp. Greg and his wife, Jane, established the Anderson Family Heritage Fund with the Community Foundation in 2014. He has been a Trustee since 2014.


*Rhys Christensen, CCIM
Rhys spent 30 years in the commercial real estate brokerage business, retiring in 2013. He is also a member of the Versus Bank of Commerce Board of Directors and volunteers with various nonprofits throughout the community. Rhys and his wife, Judy, established the Rhys and Judy Christensen Family Fund in 2012. He has been a Trustee since 2013.

 


Paula Edwards
Paula has been a community volunteer for nearly 35 years and has served in a leadership capacity for The Women's Foundation of Colorado, Give Next, United Way of Larimer County, and several other organizations, in addition to Community Foundation committees. Paula and her husband, Dave, established the Edwards Family Fund in 2003. She has been a Trustee since 2016.


Jason Ells, CCIM
Jason has worked in commercial real estate since 2001 and is currently the Vice President of Cushman & Wakefield. He has served on many community boards including Larimer Commerce Bank, Northern Colorado UniFY, and is currently serving on the board of Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce and Turning Point Center for Youth and Family Development. Jason has been a Trustee since 2015.


Richard Fagerlin
Richard founded Peak Solutions, a management consulting and leadership development firm, in 2001 and is currently the President of the firm. He authored the book Trustology and is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars around the country. Richard is also a member of the Mill City Church Board of Trustees, a past member of the Alpha Center Board of Directors, and volunteers in various capacities throughout the community. Richard has been a Trustee since 2015.


Cindy Horner, Ph.D.
Cindy is currently the President of Plainview Farms, Inc. and is the former Executive Director of the Northeastern Junior College Foundation. She is heavily involved in the Sterling community and has a passion for Northeastern Colorado. Cindy established the Johnson Family Fund in 2017, and has been a Trustee since 2016.



*Doug Hutchinson (Chair)
Doug retired as a US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel in 1989 after 23 years of service. He went on to serve as a civilian employee of the Defense Intelligence Agency in the Pentagon from 1989-1999. Doug also served as the Mayor of Fort Collins from 2005-2011. He is the President of the Fort Collins Lions Club and a member of UniverCity Connections. Doug has been a Trustee since 2012.


Robert Kearney, MBA
Robert has over 32 years of experience in real estate and finance on a national, regional, and local level. He has been self-employed for the last 20 years as the President of Abbey Mortgage & Investments and in 2006 built a private real estate loan fund that has exceeded investor expectations. He is a member of the Community Foundation’s Berthoud Community Fund Committee and has been a Trustee since 2012.


*Lisa Larsen, J.D.
Lisa is an Attorney and Counselor at Law at Fischer, Brown, Bartlett & Gunn, P.C. and specializes in estate planning, business succession planning, charitable planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and probate and trust administration. Lisa is also a member of the National Charity League, the Chair of the Community Foundation’s Regional Development Council, and has been a Trustee since 2014.



Chuck Levine
Chuck spent over 27 years with the federal government in information technology before retiring. He is currently involved with various nonprofits throughout the community, including United Way of Larimer County, Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary, and the Estes Park Financial Literacy Committee. Chuck has been a Trustee since 2012.


*Suzanne Peterson, MBA, CFA
Suzanne and her husband, Andy, started Peterson Energy Management, where she has served as owner, vice president, and chief financial officer. She is the co-chair of the Community Foundation’s Loveland Generations committee and is also on the United Way of Larimer County Loveland Advisory Board. Suzanne and Andy established a Donor Advised fund with the Community Foundation in 2012. She has been a Trustee since 2013.


*Earl Sethre 
Earl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Augsburg University. He is Vice President of Jorgensen Laboratories in Loveland and has served on many community boards including Jaycees, Loveland Sertoma, Pathways Hospice, Zion Church, and the YMCA. Earl and his wife, Lisbeth, established the Sethre Family Fund in 2006. He is a member of our Loveland Community Fund Committee and has been a Trustee since 2013.
